A place to talk about NF, have fun and share.

HURRICAN IKE

Reggie asked me to blog in and let everyone he is ok except that he has no electricity and no internet. But, and I must add, more importantly, I’m ok!!!! I know a lot of people are breathing a sigh of relief and I’m happy to let you know that not only am I alive but I am making a handsome profit selling glasses of water to staring hurricane victims for just $5 a glass. Hey, it’s a national disaster, we all need to do our part

  2. Hello Reggie’s friends,

I’m new at blogging, in fact this is my first attempt so if I do it wrong I at least tried.

About 30 mins. ago, that would be 9:30 p.m. CST, ( Mon. Sept. 15), I talked with Reggie on his only working phone. I might add that it’s the only contact with the outside world he has! The note above about his being without power is still true. He says they have been told it will probably be three weeks until it is restored!! Also, they’re low on gasoline so can’t go anywhere to get groceries and even if they could, the shelves are almost all empty. The grocery stores are out of cold foods, even though they do have generators to help some.

For him to be without his computer, which is his contact with the world, is a bit of a big problem. He misses hearing from everyone. He asked that I write this piece to let you know about him. Personally I am concerned in that they don’t have food, power, air conditioning, apparently water, and that does away with sanitary needs too. Soooooo, don’t let me alarm you but they are in need. I suggested he make several phone calls to places that will help once they know the situation.

He’s a good guy and deserves anything you might be able to do for him and his family at this time. I live 280 miles from Houston so that leaves me out of helping directly. I’m glad I can send this message, which is some help.

He says not to worry about him but to let you know he’ll be back as soon as the power is restored. Let’s hope and pray it will be sooner than three weeks!

Thanks for your time and interest,

    JK

  4. I talked to Reggie today to see if his electricity was on yet even though his zip code is on a list that is not scheduled to be working until Monday, September 22 or later. He does not have electricity yet but hopes that it won’t take as long as what is predicted.

He is doing well and can’t wait to be back online. Let’s all be careful not to break the internet before he’s able to use it again!!!

  7. Emily, your sincerity overwhelms me!!! I am touched…some say severely touched but that’s for the doctor’s to figure out. Emily, you need to keep hanging with us on the blog or, at least, continue to send naked photos of yourself.

  8. Lou, maybe you are just IMAGINING those naked photos, but careful, you may burn your eyes, or brain, or whatever! LOL
I know I’ve been AWOL, its been so hectic here. Elijah had his latest MRI and some bright spots (UBO’s) showed up on it, and just yesterday he was diagnosed with autism. I updated his caringbridge page with all of that. I will do my best to come by every day though, I miss you guys!!
