Houston Roller Derby Sunday Was a Blast!!! April 13, 2008!

What a perfect way to start a new blog.

Sunday is going to start off a terrific week. It’s going to be Roller Derby night at Verizon Wireless downtown! I can’t wait to see my friends skating, jamming and entertaining all of the Houston Derby fans. It will be my first bout of the season. Unfortunately, I missed the last one as I didn’t know the season had begun.

I’m looking forward to getting a chance to see and talk with MISTILLA, CARMENGEDDIT, DEMENTIA, JEKYLL AND HEIDI, PRIVATE BEN JAMMIN, The Colonel and many more! All of the Teams are Terrific and treat their fans really well. I hope some of you can make it to some of the bouts. You will want to go again. Watch for photos Sunday night. Also check out the Houston Roller Derby website too!

This last photo to the right is Audiomind at the Art Car Parade last year!

  3. April 13: Its 7:30 here on the islands, Sunday morning, will be off to church, yes there is church here in Hawaii, there is even one on the beach on Waikiki, bathing suits optional. Still hearing about Texas on the news, from AA to the mormon church compound. Even in Hawaii, cant get away from Texas.

  11. Monday, April 14: Need to take mom to her doctor in Hononlulu, then afterward probably will drive up to the North Shore. May stop by Mollys Smokehouse, she runs a BBQ place and she is from Texas, so I know there will be good BBQ, I been there before. I can see Gillian Island from where I am. Dont understand it, why there were on the Island for seven years, there are boats going by it all the time.

  23. April 15: Enjoyable trip around the north shore. BBQ good. Here, you see Korean, Mongolian type bbq, it is no where the same as USA/Texas BBQ. For them, beef is a paper thin slice of beef or chicken. No, that is not bbq, you need a big hunk of beef and a whole chicken, no paper thin slices. Not sure what my plans are. One of the reason why I am here, to celebrate my 5x birthday. I have came here for my 40, 50 and now my 5x, makes it easier over here.

  30. Reggie,

It was an honor to meet you at the Roller Derby Sunday night. I have heard such wonderful things about you from Lou, Rie, & Elena. I am surprised it has taken so many years to have finally meet-up with you. I also want to thank-you also for the Just Ask T-shirt. I will definitely send you a picture. Kyle, Kayla, & I (you met them also) will be traveling to Newfoundland, Canada this summer and I will be taking a picture there in it for sure.
I read your website and was touched. I truly respect how you live your life. By embracing what is given to us, it leads us to live a better life. We do things that maybe we would never have the courage to do otherwise. We can’t control what life gives us only how we handle it. And by having grace and acceptance we can live a peaceful life.

  34. April 16: Yesterday, I try to do this at least once every other trip, to visit Punchbowl, the National Cemetry of the Pacific. Very moving and emotional to visit this site of all the men and women who gave their lives for our country fighting in the Pacific during all wars. Also, had dinner at a Mexican resturant, which was pretty good for here in Hawaii. I remember one time, Mexican resturant were like Taco xxxx. Not sure what will be doing today, but this evening will be the celebrating-party of my bd. Was asked if I want to go on a boat cruise for three hours. I have heard about these three hours cruises, maybe a two hour or 4 hour cruise. Last time I was to go on one, the weather on the ocean was getting rough, it was canceled. Oh well.
